BIO
I have been interested in history since I was a small child. But I did not fully commit to the historical field until high school. After graduating, I went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a BA in history and religious studies. I then received an MA in history at North Carolina State University and began to teach. Soon after, I published my first book review and fully moved into the field of North Carolina history.
My work focuses on North Carolina history, but I have been published in fields as diverse as architectural history, coastal history, and European diplomacy. I work for scholarly as well as popular publications and have written for both children and adults. In my free time, I usually love reading, writing, and exploring small towns; I am currently on a quest to see every county courthouse in North Carolina, Please reach out if you have any writing or teaching opportunities.
